Shark Point was named for the numerous sightings of leopard sharks in the vicinity, though in recent years, more leopard sharks have probably been seen around the dive spots of Phi Phi a bit further east. Shark Point is about 28 kilometers east of Phuket, near Anemone Reef and the King Cruiser Wreck. Several underwater pinnacles can be found at the diving location. The northern peak breaks the surface, but the small black rock sticking out offers no indication of the vibrant soft corals beneath the water. Most dives begin at the first pinnacle, from which you may either descend by line or free-dive to a maximum depth of roughly 24 meters.
The King Cruiser wreck sits in around 30m of water, right next to the reef it hit (Anemone Reef) which is a great dive site in itself. The shallowest part of the wreck used to be a little more than 12m, but over the years it has disintegrated and now the top of the wreck is nearer to a depth of 18m.
